ACGL THERAPY FEES
The Austin Center for Grief & Loss provides individual, couples, and family therapy for those experiencing grief and loss.
We believe that payment for service is an important part of each client’s investment in their own therapeutic process. Making psychological and emotional wellness a priority, both from a scheduling and financial standpoint, is one part of this process.
INSURANCE
Austin Grief accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UNHC, Ambetter, and Tricare. Please inquire when you request your appointment in the event additional insurances are accepted.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Therapy represents an important commitment to healing on the part of both the client and the therapist. Therapists are prepared and on time for each client appointment. When a client no-shows or misses a session without proper notice, the therapist has lost an hour of time available for another client. Thus, clients missing a session without cancellation at least 24 hours prior to the appointment will be charged a $50 charge for the session.
FEES
The fee for an individual grief and loss assessment is $75. This assessment is 50 minutes in duration and will determine if The Austin Center for Grief & Loss is able to support your grief needs through your participation in a support group, individual or family therapy services or both.
For individual therapy services the fee is $130. The fee for 2+ adult individuals is $150 for a 50-minute session. For family or couples therapy the session fee is $145. Family and couples sessions are 50 minutes in duration. Fees will be paid at the close of each session by credit card.
The Austin Center for Grief & Loss takes on graduate students in counseling, marriage and family therapy, and social work who are closely supervised by the Clinical Director. The fee for a 50-minute session for an individual provided by graduate students is $40.00. The fee for a 50-minute session for multiple individuals is $45.00.
The Austin Center for Grief & Loss offers a sliding scale fee for those unable to afford the suggested fee. The sliding scale fee will be based upon your current financial situation and need. Fees may also be adjusted whenever there is a significant change in income or financial status.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE NOTICE
You have the right to receive a ‘Good Faith Estimate’ explaining how much your therapy may cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, a cost estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
-
You have the right to receive a ‘Good Faith Estimate’ for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
-
Your health care provider must give you a ‘Good Faith Estimate’ in writing for scheduled services within designated timeframes. You can also ask your health care provider for a ‘Good Faith Estimate’ before you schedule an item or service.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your ‘Good Faith Estimate’, you can dispute the bill.
-
